ABOUT OUR CLINIC

Body Mechanik is located overlooking the Grand River in the heritage Old Livery Building in downtown Fergus. In keeping with our Covid protocols, kindly arrive only a few minutes prior to your appointment. After removing your shoes at the door, please have a seat in the open treatment room.

Please note that as we do not have secretarial staffing. Booking is done through the online form below or by calling and leaving a message.

At your first treatment with Body Mechanik, we will review your consent form as well as your full health history which you will have completed (will be linked in your confirmation email) when you booked your appointment. By providing this information prior to your initial consultation and first treatment, it allows us more time at your in-person appointment to discuss your health status and develop an appropriate treatment plan that best suits your needs. It is important to include all personal and medical history on your form as the more information we have about your body, the better we are able to help you in treatment.

What to Expect After Your Treatment

Osteopathic treatment doesn’t stop when you leave the clinic. The effects will continue up to a week after as your body adjusts. We will often give you advice as to simple things you can do for maximum benefit when you leave the clinic such as:

  • Go for a leisurely walk around the block before you get in your car

  • Drink water

  • Eat healthy, nourishing food

  • Get a good night’s sleep

  • Listen to your body

We are often asked, “How long until I get better?” That’s a really hard question to answer as everyone comes to the clinic in a different state. How your body reacts to treatment is based on past experience, your general mobility and health history.

You are a big part of the process. Your daily activities and habits play a big role in the overall function of your body. Our goal always is to get your body in optimal condition so that it can take care of the issues you are experiencing itself. We want to see a positive change in how you’re feeling in 3-6 treatments. Improvement is different for everyone, but may look like:

  • More energy

  • Easier to get out of bed in the morning or when you get up after sitting

  • Movement feels easier

  • More regular elimination

  • More restful sleep

  • You can breathe easier or aren’t congested

  • Frequency of symptoms or intensity of symptoms starting to decrease

More About Me, Amanda Voisin (MOMSc. BScKin.)

As an Osteopathic Manual Practitioner , I completed my 4 year education at the Canadian Academy of Osteopathy which is a 4 year, 4400 hour program that includes 1000 hours of supervised student clinic. I am also part of the Ontario Osteopathic Association which is fully recognized by the insurance industry. I founded Body Mechanik so that I could create a clinic that was based on my philosophy of practical training combined with my belief in my patients and their ability to heal themselves.

As an avid ringette player (competing at the National level and winning a gold medal at the Canada Winter Games), I coached younger teams and grew my interest in human movement. I enrolled in Kinesiology at the University of Waterloo and during this time I began personal training as well as coaching fitness classes while continuing to coach ringette. After finishing my Honours Bachelor Degree in Kinesiology I enrolled in the Canadian Academy of Osteopathy. I have vast knowledge in anatomy, physiology, biomechanics and manual osteopathy.

Born and raised in Centre Wellington, my husband José and I enjoy living and working in the community. In my spare time, I enjoy everything our country property has to offer, hiking, working out with friends and family time with my nieces. I believe it’s important to give back to the community and find my role as a board member of Big Brothers Big Sisters Centre Wellington to be very fulfilling.
