ABOUT OSTEOPATHY

Osteopathy, like other forms of medical therapy, is scientific founded on the principles of natural law. As an Osteopath practitioner, I have extensive knowledge of anatomy, physiology and mechanical principles and have completed 4 years of osteo-specific education at the Canadian Academy of Osteopathy (a 4400 hour program that includes 1000 hours of supervised student clinic).

Through gentle adjustment of the body, we work to remove obstructions that restrict the flow of arteries, veins, nerves and lymphatics. Once the body is balanced and all restrictions are removed, the body is able to heal naturally through its own intrinsic self-healing and self-regulating mechanisms.

Who Can Benefit From Treatment

Everyone can benefit from osteopathy. Osteopathy uses a drug-free, non-invasive form of manual medicine that focuses on the health of the whole body, not just the injured or affected part for all stages of life – infants, teens, adults and seniors. With treatment, patients can see a resolution of symptoms, while treatment can also be preventative and/or palliative. We even treat your animals!

Osteopathic intervention can make a real difference with:

  • Arthritis

  • Migraines and headaches

  • Back pain

  • Tennis elbow

  • Digestive issues

  • Respiratory issues

  • Pre and Post Natal issues such as carpal tunnel, circulation, general pains and pelvic floor strength

  • Congestion/circulation problems

  • Sleep cycles

  • Issues with the nervous, circulatory and lymphatic systems

Is Osteopathy Covered Under Insurance?

Yes it is! As a member in good standing with the Ontario Osteopathic Association we provide treatment receipts for insurance reimbursement, however, you need to check with your specific plan and carrier as to your policy details. We don’t complete or process any paperwork associated with WSIB, disability or MVA claims.
